June 16, 2009 Diversity through Music. Performances by Robert Aviles and Orange County Klezmer Band. Aviles is recognized around the globe for his award-winning performances and original music performed on the 7-string electric violin. A roundtable discussion moderated by former Huntington Beach Mayor Shirley Dettloff includes representation from Moslem, Jewish, and Christian leaders. The panel includes Rabbi Stephen Einstein, Imam Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, Father Christian Mondor, and Reverend Peggy Price. Presented by the City of Huntington Beach under the auspices of the Centennial Committee and Human Relations Task Force, the event and a series of nine lectures are designed to examine diversity through a variety of "eyes".
