Huntington Beach Main Street's
Library / Triangle Park. Bring
the kids with you to this rally.
As part of a master plan for
downtown Huntington Beach, the
design and use of the greenbelt
and library are being under
scrutiny with redevelopment
plans to create higher traffic
use. Residents of homes
surrounding the park, and
visitors to the library are
seeking support in preserving an
historic element of the
downtown, rather than
reconstruction of one of the
100-year-old library system's
unique buildings and grounds.

Relocation Camps During World
War II. The last baby born at
Manzanar, a California isolation
camp that placed Japanese
Americans in internment
facilities and forced them into
menial tasks and labor such as
farming during WWII, has been
invited to share in the
discussion about these temporary
prisons. A discussion led by Ken
Inoye, member of the Orange
County Human Relations
Commission, will explore the
Japanese experience and include
a film about the only
non-Japanese camp member, John
Lazo. Presented by the City
of Huntington Beach under the
auspices of the Centennial
Committee and Human Relations
Task Force, the event and a
series of nine lectures are
designed to examine diversity
through a variety of "eyes". The
stories should stimulate further
