July 6, 2013 Bolsa Chica Wetlands Tour - Free First Saturday Tour of Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. Tours begin every 15 minutes and five areas of interest are included in the presentation: history, birds, endangered species, ecology and restoration. Docents stationed on or near the footbridge, a truly magnificent entrance to the restored Bolsa Chica wetlands, offer exceptional on-site presentations on the first Saturday of each month. Time: 9-10:30 a.m. Location: Pacific Coast Highway between Seapoint and Warner Streets across the street from the main entrance to Bolsa Chica State Beach. Sunday July 21, 2013 Free Bolsa Chica Tours - Learn about the history of Bolsa Chica, its wildlife, and plant life with a Bolsa Chica Land Trust guide. Literature and merchandise are also available at this two-hour tour on the third Sunday of each month. The free guided walking tour of the Bolsa Chica wetlands and upper mesas includes walking--wear comfortable shoes and sun protection, and be sure to bring binoculars or a camera!
