Huntington Beach Central
Library Evacuated - Bomb Scare
Outside Library Creates Concern
Huntington Beach Central
Library was evacuated and a
small business seminar
rescheduled when Huntington
Beach Police & Fire units
responded to a call reporting a
device with several wires
attached to it on Talbert Avenue
and Golden West Street. Rep.
Dana Rohrabacher and Assemblyman
Jim Silva were both evacuated,
along with representatives from
government small business
agencies who hosted a small
business fair.
Just after 12 Noon an inspection
of several devices found that
they weren't bombs, though it
appeared that someone went to a
lot of effort to make them
appear like bombs, according
Martha Werth of the HB Fire
Department.
The small-business fair,
organized by a Board of
Equalization rep. will be
rescheduled according to the
Board.
Huntington Beach Events will
re-post the event as a new date
becomes available.
