Huntington Beach Art League will hold its monthly artist's demonstration, and the public is invited to attend. On the schedule for May 2008 is artist Rafael Manaigo, who's met great success and popularity as a Huntington Beach Art League demonstrator. He has also held several workshops for our art league and has charmed members with his lively demonstrations. He will select a member of the audience (by drawing a ticket from the raffle tickets) and paint their portrait during the evening. Manaigo was born in the Philippines, attended the University of East Manila and continued his studies at Pasadena Art Center when he came to the United States in 1985. He has painted over 1000 portraits many of which were of Philippine leaders.

He is a patient man with an keen eye for perfection and color. His elegant style can be seen in his works of art and the way his paintings capture the inner life and physical likeness of the characters he portrays. True to his love of painting, he continues to teach and paint outdoor day after day. Maniago is a member of the Portrait Society of America, American Society of Portrait Artists, California Art Club and Laguna Plein Art Painters Association.
