4th of July Sounds of Freedom Parade, Vendor Expo and Fireworks Show, all free! Parade begins at 10 a.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near Main Street. It proceeds up Main Street to Yorktown near Seacliff Shopping Center and City Hall (2000 Main Street).  The free fireworks show begins at 9 p.m. and lasts for approx. 22 minutes. Give yourself an additional hour to get out of town afterward due to traffic.

August 7-9, 2015 Ribs, Pigs & Watermelons - Pro BBQ Competition and Summer Festival  - at Huntington State Beach. Hours: Friday: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (BBQ Competition Day) Craft Beer Tasting 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m Description of Event: American Family Housing presents the 4th annual Pigs, Ribs and Watermelons Professional BBQ competition and Beer festival at Huntington State Beach! This event is American Family Housing’s largest fundraiser. All proceeds from this event will raise much needed funding to continue the work of American Family Housing (AFH) which will directly benefit homeless adults and families. Festival at the Huntington State Beach parking area of Pacific Coast Hwy Lot 9 and Beach blvd. This is a Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned event and competing for the $10,000.00 prize money.
