Event Submission for HuntingtonBeachEvents.com - To submit an event for editorial consideration, please include: name of event, date, time, location, cost, phone number, web site, if any and description. Huntington Beach Calendar of Events is a free service to the community, helping local citizens, travelers, tourists, hotel concierge and all who seek Huntington Beach activities and entertainment.

According to the research of Ypartnership, two-thirds of affluent travelers today ($150,000 or more annual income) are conservative in their travel and try not to flaunt their wealth. Seven out of ten of them seek the lowest prices and best value, and may trade down during this current cycle to obtain the best deal. Like others have stated, more enriching experiences are preferred over a luxurious lifestyle by the majority of these travelers. This trend will continue into 2010.

And for those owning luxury properties, another trend that's occurring will continue. Profit margins will continue to be less than the past, and we may see more hotels file Chapter 11 for debt restructing. The St. Regis in Dana Point, Calif. (where the AIG scandal was focused,) is pushing an early July deadline for payment of a bond to the tune of $7 million or so. While that may seem small, the company that owns the luxury hotel has several projects that are at a standstill (including the construction of a W Hotel in nearby Huntington Beach.) Luxury hotels are trying a marketing approach of adding perks and packages rather than lowering their prices too drastically. There has been staff reduction and reduction of services in many luxury properties, friends who work at them tell me. You can guess that it could equate to a lower level of service of guests.

The research of PKF Consulting yields predictions that it will continue to be difficult for investors and hotel owners sitting on high end (or other) resort & hotel properties financed within the past several years to hang in there. Bargains will be available to investors with financing. But, they say, we're looking at slow regional rebounds in mid-to-late 2010 that will only slightly increase profit levels. I recently wrote a blog post about this, referenced as a web resource.

Are you an event planner,  marketing manager, or community volunteer? WE CAN HELP YOU! If the local HB population is what you seek in a forum such as HuntingtonBeachEvents website, let us help you survive and prosper.

Free sports at the beach and throughout the city include volleyball, surfing, roller blading, jogging, walking, tennis, basketball, handball, campfires, gondola sunset rides, walking the dog at Dog Park or Dog Beach and more! This isn't just a website for events, it's a site for the community to enjoy and submit their events to. If we can help your needy cause, no event is too small. And we do it for FREE! Sure we could charge money like others do, but huntingtonbeachevents is about COMMUNITY. We've supplied free event listings since 2001. Support us if you like with links, ads, event submissions...or whatever.  This is your forum to know what's going on in HB.
