June 19, 2005 Play - Dandelion Wine is a moving play in which a 38-year-old man must uncork the wrenching summer of his childhood in order to free himself of loneliness that has been bottled up in his heart for the last 23 years. He succeeds by going back in time and confronting his bright-eyed teenage self, and together they relive those days that once put music in his ears and magic in his eyes. Written by Ray Bradbury, the play is directed by Robert Michael Conrad and produced & performed by Newport Beach Repertory Theater in conjunction with Huntington Beach Art Center. This richly comic play originally starred Maureen Stapleton and George C. Scott and also spawned two other “suite” plays, California Suite and London Suite. Plaza Suite is a three-act play that details the misadventures of three very different couples as they face crucial moments in their respective lives – all in the same hotel room in the famous Plaza Hotel.
