July 4 , 2005 Surf City Run and Expo - You can register Sunday, July 3rd, at Farmers & Merchants Bank on 17th & Yorktown in Huntington Beach or on race morning at Worthy Park located at 17th & Main beginning at 6:00 am. The Surf City Run is the annual kick-off to a full day of activities for the City of Huntington Beach's Fourth of July Celebration. Enjoy a fun and fast 5K course, then stay for the famous July Fourth Fireworks show held off the beaches of Huntington Beach over the Pacific Ocean. The race will begin promptly at 7:00 am with the Residents Run and finish with the ever popular Kids Run. Race Features > Residents Division 5K Run/Walk, presented by Mother's Market, exclusively for residents of Huntington Beach. > Popular Thomas Kemper Soda Kids Run (all finishers receive a medal. Kids runs are NOT timed) > Fitness Expo, presented by Mountain High Yoghurt will feature music, food, games and the latest in health and fitness. Race Course: All races will start and finish at Huntington Beach High School on the corner of 17th Street and Main Street. Entry fee: $30 includes t-shirt and expo.

Directions to the Race: All races will start and finish at Huntington Beach High School on the corner of 17th Street and Main Street.
Directions: From the 405 take the Goldenwest Street exit. Travel South on Goldenwest to Palm. Turn left on Palm and left on 17th Street to Main Street. Awards- All Divisions: Awards for both the residents and open 5K will be presented to the overall male and female winners and the top three male and female finishers in each age group. The top three male and female finishers in the Stroller Division will also receive awards. All Kid's Run finishers will receive a finisher medal. The Thomas Kemper Soda Kids Run will not be timed. www.surfcityrun.com

July 4, 2005 Pancake Breakfast - The Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach will be flipping the hot cakes for you! Location: Lake Park, Main and 11th. Time: 6:30 - 10 am. Tickets $5 can be purchased at the event.

July 4, 2005 Surf City Run Band Outer Wave sponsored by Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum. Outer Wave is fast becoming a favorite among traditional surf music lovers. This band played at the Pacific Shoreline Marathon as well as Surfin' Sundays at the pier plaza. They play with such great enthusiasm it's bound to stir up the crowd.The July 4th Surf City 5K run, expo and concert to be held at Worthy Park. Time: 7:30 to 11:00 AM during the 5K Surf City Run, Admission: Concert is free. Location: Worthy Park, next to Huntington Beach High School, 17th and Main Street, Huntington Beach.

July 4, 2005 Vendor Exp at Pier Plaza - Booths with giveaways such SoBe soft drinks, Wienershnitzel "Dog Squad"handing out coupons for free chilidogs and Tasty Freez ice cream cones and "The Delicious One" (costume character) on site to take pictures with people and KFC will hand out coupons. July 4, 2005 - 4th of July Parade - The largest Independence Day parade west of the Mississippi River features more than 300 entries including bands, floats, film and television celebrities, local dignitaries, equestrians and community groups. The parade heads south to Main Street, proceeds up Main Street through the downtown, ending at Yorktown and Main. Parking: Pacific Coast Highway is closed between Beach Blvd. and Golden West Street between 6 a.m. and approximately 1 p.m. or until the parade route is cleared. Parade viewers can enter the downtown area off Golden West on Orange or Palm Avenues. "Staking Out" an area for viewing is allowed after 7 a.m. on July 3rd. Items must be removed by 2 p.m. on July 4th. Commemorative celebration merchandise and bleacher seat tickets are available. Time: 10 a.m to 12:30 p.m. approx. July 4, 2005 Children's Village Expo - A special “Children’s Village Expo” will be held on July 4th only, 1:00 – 7:30 p.m in the first 2 blocks of Main Street. On pier plaza K-EARTH 101 will broadcast live. There will be entertainment all afternoon with give-aways, surf band music and trivia quizzes for prizes. Location: Main Street between Pacific Coast Highway and Olive. Cost: Free admission.

July 4, 2005 Fireworks Show Launched from the Huntington Beach Pier after dark. This free event is held in conjunction with the 4th of July Celebration. Tickets for Pier seating are sold at City Hall, 2000 Main Street between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. week days or at the Huntington Beach Pier on July 2 and 3. Cost:$15/person or $50/4.
