May 19, 2009 Shipley Nature Center -  Restoration Days. The Friends of Shipley Nature Center will be planting, weeding and cleaning up, and they need your assistance. On the first Saturday of the month, the public can tour Shipley Nature Center at 11 a.m., in addition to the clean up activities that begin at 9 a.m. and go till noon. May 19, 2009  Wetlands viewing - Birders, nature lovers and the curious are invited to drop by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, one of the West Coast's significant flyways for migrating birds. Bring binoculars to enjoy even closer views of these soaring creatures. Location: Pacific Coast Highway between Seapoint and Warner on the east side of the highway. Enjoy 300 acres, plus a 1.5 mile loop trail.  No pets or bikes permitted on the trails. Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
