July 4, 2010 4th of July Independence Day Parade and Fireworks Show. Time: Parade starts at 10 a.m. after the Surf City 5K Run. Location: Main Street between Pacific Coast Highway and Yorktown. Huntington Beach, CA. 4th of July Parade and Fireworks Show event begins on Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway at 6:30 a.m. with the Surf City Fun Run. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and lasts 2 to 3 hours. The fireworks show begins at dark, around 9 p.m.
4th of July Parade and Independence Day Celebration. The annual parade will march down the streets of Huntington Beach. Beginning at 10 a.m. the parade starts at Pacific Coast Highway and 6th Street, turning on Main Street to Garfield. The largest Independence Day parade west of the Mississippi River features more than 300 entries including bands, floats, film and television celebrities, local dignitaries, equestrians and community groups. The parade heads south to Main Street, proceeds up Main Street through the downtown, ending at Yorktown and Main. Parking: Pacific Coast Highway is closed between Beach Blvd. and Golden West Street between 6 a.m. and approximately 1 p.m. or until the parade route is cleared. Parade viewers can enter the downtown area off Golden West on Orange or Palm Avenues. "Staking Out" an area for viewing is allowed after 7 a.m. on July 3rd. Items must be removed by 2 p.m. on July 4th. Commemorative celebration merchandise and bleacher seat tickets are available. Time: 10 a.m to 12:30 p.m. approx. July 4, 2010 4th of July Parade & Events Schedule 4th of July Brunch and Parade. The Bolsa Chica Conservancy will be hosting a 4th of July benefit brunch at Fred’s Mexican Café in downtown Huntington Beach on Friday, July 4, 2009. Sponsored by Fred’s Mexican Café, Laird Coatings Resource Corporation and Surf City Kiwanis, all proceeds from the benefit will go to support the Bolsa Chica Conservancy’s Wetland Science Education Programs and the Education and Restoration Center. Come view the parade by the ocean and enjoy a delicious all you can eat buffet! Limited tickets will be sold at the door of Fred’s Mexican Cafe but it's best to buy in advance to assure your spot. July 4, 2010 2010 Inline Hockey Junior Olympics The Rinks - Over 400 teams from 10 countries will compete in the first Inline Hockey Junior Olympics held west of the Mississippi. The AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) hosted its first Inline Junior Olympics in 1996, consisting of 20 teams competing within one age group. The tournament now features numerous age groups and divisions with approximately 50 international teams traveling to Southern California from countries as far away as China (Hong Kong), Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Germany and France. Canada, Mexico and Colombia have also committed numerous teams. The AAU Junior Olympics will be separated into several divisions, consisting of both club and international competition.
