Top smooth jazz artists (WAVE
style music), perform to raise
funds for various causes, but
most of the contributions
support programs for children
with autism. The figures about
autism are staggering. It's
likely that you or someone you
know will be touched by autism
and when it happens, there's
rarely enough information to
help you figure out what it is
and what to do about it.
One family, Corky & Betty
Bennish, and Betty's sister,
Diane Adams and her husband,
Greg Adams (formerly performed
with hit group, Air Supply), all
were touched personally with
autism when the Adams' son had
autism. Rather than feel like
victims, they took action to
make the world a better place.
Using their knowledge of the
music industry, they created a
concert series as a fundraiser
to support research and programs
for autism.
For several years the family has
produced smooth jazz concerts
featuring top recording artists
who come to Huntington Beach to
perform. They also have
organized a day-long jazz
concert series in Central Park.
This event has been a huge
success and great value in
entertainment with tickets
starting around $50.
If you have an opportunity to
attend one of the concerts
featuring Marion Meadows
(saxophonist), Mindi Abair, Rick
Braun, or a host of top acts,
the added bonus of lifting your
spirit with a cause is just
icing on the cake for seeing
some of the world's top talents
perform in Huntington Beach. The
concert venues usually include
Huntington Beach Library Concert
Theater, Hyatt Regency
Huntington Beach Ballroom and
Central Park outdoor lawns
behind Central Library.
