The Sport Chalet US Open of Bodyboarding hosts this annual event that
invites the world's best bodyboarders to participate for cash and prizes. Over 200 national and international
riders compete in amateur, professional, men's, and women's divisions. If
you've never seen bodyboarding, this is an exciting sport that some prefer
watching over surfing. Southern California is a bodyboarding mecca and
you'll enjoy rooting for many locals, plus all the crowd favorites from
around the globe. Bodyboarding is surfing on shorter boards that surfboards,
and riding on the board as you lay flat, not standing.
There's a free bodyboard clinic and possibly some vendors or other things to
see and do.
