HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.—Golden West College (GWC) annual event, Chefs for Scholarships, raises money for student scholarships while providing tasty samples of local cuisine produced by the best restaurant kitchens around.

The Chefs for Scholarships fundraiser will have approximately 30 local restaurants, wineries and breweries participating by providing food and beverage samples for the guests. In addition to the food, there will be opportunity drawings as well as live music. For the kids, we will have balloon art, face painting, magic and The Game Squad.

Golden West College President Wes Bryan welcomes families and invites them to attend this event for a special cause.

Inspired by the grand opening of the new Veterans Resource Center on the Golden West college campus, the Patrons have chosen to have this year’s Chefs be a Tribute to Veterans and are pleased to announce that this year’s event will support a new Veterans Student Scholarship.

Previous information below

Chefs for Scholarships at Golden West College in Huntington Beach has become an annual event to look for. The quality of chefs make this an exceptional "taste of" food sampling event. While raising funds for students to pursue careers, the "Chefs" event also allows the public to taste the cuisine from a variety of restaurants, many that we frequent and rate among our favorites.

Be sure to support the effort to promote educational opportunities by attending this worthy fund-raiser. It has been held annually in the Fall for several years and is one event visitors look forward to attending again.

More than twenty local restaurants, wineries and breweries served up tasty food and beverage samples in the Golden West College Student Center last year (2008). With more than 300 guests attending the 3rd Annual Chefs for Scholarships event, the Golden West College Patrons (funding scholarships on campus since 1973) helped to continue a tradition of fund-raising. Now donating more than $100,000 to help students achieve their academic goals, the family-oriented event featured live musical entertainment, bounce house, clown, and fire truck and two firemen from the Huntington Beach Fire Department. Guests walked away with prizes from the grab bags, opportunity drawings, and silent auction.
