Huntington Beach Central Park behind the library, 7111 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach, CA

The Huntington Beach Concert Band is the original city band that has provided a wonderful jazz concert series in Central Park for many year. Entertaining Orange County Since 1973, the band contains musicians, many successful in careers in the music industry, but glad to perform in community events. The HB Concert Band launches the concert series in 2011 with a patriotic line up of songs just in time for Huntington Beach's big 4th of July event. Go red, white & blue!

Bring a picnic basket and blanket or lawn chairs to sit in the shade and enjoy this fantastic, free entertainment served up in a bandshell with sounds projecting up to the hills near Central Library. Bring kids, bring well-behaved pets, and relax with quality, free jazz!

July 1 Los Angeles Police Swing Band 
Big band and jazz standards

July 8 Laguna Beach Community Concert Band  
The band plays a wide variety of music from marches
and classics to holiday music, Swing, Jazz, Big Band
and Dixieland.

July 15 The Swing Cats Big Band  The Swing Cats re-create
the exact sounds of the 30s, 40s, and 50s as well as the
music of today. Reminisce back to the swingin' sounds of
Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington,
Harry James, Tommy Dorsey, and many others.


July 22 Orquesta Charangoa   Favoring a lighter, more elegant
sound, Orquesta Charangoa is the modern version of a typical
Cuban charanga – a tropical ensemble that combines joyous
violins with acrobatic flute solos, creating an ever sunny and
smiling sound .

July 29 Huntington Beach Concert Band   An eclectic program of film music,
marches, classical favorites, and popular melodies.

Aug 5 Henebry’s 1920’s Crazy Rhythm Hot Society Orchestra 
The original musical sounds of the Golden Age of Radio
with Flapper Vocalist Ginger Pauley.

Aug 12 Golden West Pops and Covina Concert Band
Golden West Pops performs “Pops” band music with a wide variety
of styles: from Ragtime to Rock with some show tunes, patriotic
music and show classics thrown in.

The repertoire of the Covina Concert Band includes marches, medleys,
the big band sound, classical compositions, and music written for band by current composers.

Aug 19 Night Blooming Jazzmen   Traditional New Orleans classic
Jazz and Blues. They have a lot of fun with their audiences and
with each other and their music is top quality.

Aug 26 Bob DeSena’s Latin Jazz Ensemble   A program of exciting
Latin jazz and fiery rhythms in the legendary tradition of
Tito Puente and Cal Tjader.

Sept 2 Mike Henebry Orchestra   Internationally acclaimed
orchestra authentically recreating music of the famous
Big Bands of the Swing Era.
