September 21, 2013, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Disaster Preparedness Expo is an annual event helping the public to learn about, understand and prepare for possible future disasters ranging from earthquakes to tsunamis. Most consider natural disasters inevitable, and not to be feared, as long as you are prepared. The City of Huntington Beach constantly plans for such events and wants to share their preparedness information with the public to foster a greater sense of cooperation and knowledge about how you can make a difference in emergencies. This annual event not only distributes information, but invites the public to participate in some of the programs seeking volunteers.

Present at the event are:

  • Huntington Beach Police Department
  • Huntington Beach Fire Department Urban Search & Rescue (USAR)
  • FireMed
  • National Weather Service
  • American Red Cross
  • HB Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)
  • HB Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES)
  • Ready OC
