The FREE admission Sunset Beach Art Festival is held each year on Mother's Day weekend on the greenbelt which runs parallel to the beach just a few feet away. Over 150 artisans display their artwork and crafts. Local bands & musicians entertain all weekend.  Huntington Beach is kind of spoiled with the weekly Art A-Fair at Pier Plaza and Artist Booths at Surf City Nights. But before these events ever existed Sunset Beach was a community totally separate from Huntington, with its own annual celebrations such as the Mother's Day Weekend Art Festival.

It always includes a quilt which is raffled, music, vendors, foods, and free admission. It is always held in the same place - the Greenbelt. Las Damas women's civic group produces this event on a volunteer basis as their biggest fundraiser for music and art programs in schools.
