Huntington Beach, California Logo used on many promotional items and the city's web site includes the letters "HB", designed to create four quadrants, each with a symbol relating to Huntington Beach.

Upper left quadrant is sailing, sunshine and waves. Huntington Beach has a harbor called Huntington Harbour, which is what this symbol refers to.

Upper right quadrant is a house and tree. This no doubt refers to residential living. For many years, Huntington Beach has been considered a great place to live.

Lower left quadrant is a movement of atoms. Probably referring to the space industry and what was known as McDonnell Douglas when this logo was designed, today Boeing Company in Huntington Beach continues to employ engineers and physicists who design complex craft, most for government and military applications.

Lower right quadrant is a person in motion skiing. This refers to Huntington Beach's reputation as a surfing destination and surfing community. Several schools have surfing teams, and the surfing industry includes retail shops, corporations and surfboard shapers, to name a few. Annual surfing events number of 50.
