  • Chris Epting, Huntington Beach Chronicles: The Heart of Surf City
  • Mary Urashima, Historic Wintersburg in Huntington Beach. Synopsis: This is the story of Japanese immigrants chasing the American dream from their pioneer experiences on the West Coast to their enterprising spirit in today's Orange County businesses and farms. From the 1800s and up to the present, their story is also about overcoming discrimination to achieve civil liberties. Wintersburg's unique history includes the Japanese pioneer experience through today's urgency to save the area as an historic village, named among the 11 most endangered historic places in the U.S. by the National Trust for Historic Preservations.
