World-Class Dogs and Owners Face-Off -- public invited to free event. Top athletic dogs from across the country participate in the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge, National Championships event featuring Olympic-style competition. Check out some very talented dogs as they hit the beach for the Incredible Surf Dog competition.

Public Qualifying & Try Outs June 8, 2018

The 2018 Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge, National Championships, staged at Huntington State Beach (Pacific Coast Highway enter Beach Blvd. or Magnolia St.), hosts an open qualifying session on Friday. Competitors are invited to try out for Incredible Diving Dog, Incredible Fetch It!, and Incredible Freestyle Flying Disc. Please send questions to: ccmccarthy@carsonevents.com.

• Incredible Diving Dog qualifying is limited to the first 20 dogs.
• Incredible Freestyle Flying Disc qualifying is limited to the first 15 dogs.
• Incredible Fetch It! Qualifying is limited to the first 8 dogs.
• Sponsor reserves the right to expand the field at its discretion.
• Sign up will occur on site in the Pro Plan tent on Friday no pre-registration available.
• Starting at 9 a.m.  interested competitors must be present at the IDC site to sign up.
• The event will be located in the parking lot of State Beach in Huntington near the SW corner of the Pacific Coast Highway and Rt. 39/Beach Blvd.
• All dogs must stay on a leash until qualifying begins.
• Proceed to the registration area, located in the Pro Plan Tent, and form a line in the order of arrival.
• You will be issued a numbered card designating your place in line. This is NOT confirmation of your registration.
• Line up at the tent in the order of your number, and follow posted directions for registration.
• Participants arriving after 10 a.m. or after the fields are full may not sign up.
• If available, open dock for Diving Dog practice will occur from 9:30 -9:55 a.m.
• Incredible Diving Dog Qualifying   starts at 10 a.m.
• Warm Up for Freestyle Flying Disc  at 10:50 a.m.
• Incredible Freestyle Flying Disc Qualifying at 11 a.m.
• Incredible Fetch It! Qualifying will start at 11:45 a.m.

Those competitors qualifying for the Diving Dog, Freestyle Flying Disc and Fetch It! competitions on Saturday, June 10 are   issued additional instructions and asked to stay after the qualifying.

Included: high-flying disc routines, head-to-head weave pole racing, large & small dog agility courses, Jack Russell hurdle racing and the crowd favorite – dog diving – where dogs take a running leap off of a 40-foot dock into a 19,000-gallon pool of water.

Every dog has the potential to be an amazing athlete, which is why Purina Pro Plan is committed to supporting active dog owners and their pets by providing the high-quality nutrition and expert resources they need to perform at their best.

 There is a try-out in which any dog has the opportunity to compete in the Challenge with open qualifying rounds for the dog diving, fetch it and freestyle flying disc competitions. Winning qualifiers earn a spot in Saturday’s competition.
