August 2, 2005   Adventure Playground invites kids ages 6 to 12 to raft on a small pond, navigate a rope bridge, build forts and go down a mud slide. Bring a plastic bag with a change of shoes and clothes. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Location: 7111 Talbert Ave., enter from Youth Shelter path and look for water tower with sign. Cost: $2 - $3. August 2, 2005  Billabong West Coast Learn to Surf Day Camp - Learn to Surf in Huntington Beach. Have you ever wanted to learn to surf or try yoga? Now is your chance to come join Billabong’s team riders as they teach you some surfing skills, yoga moves, talk about nutrition and eating right for staying in shape for surfing. All participants will be provided a healthy lunch, use of surfboards, and a cool goodie bag filled with all kinds of Billabong gear, MOP hair products, and other great stuff. This Beach Bash will be held at Golden West Street with Billabong Surf Camp in Huntington Beach, Ca. It will be a fun day of learning to surf with Billabongs team riders and yoga and nutritional instruction by Peggy Hallowell of Yoga for Surfers. Lunch will be provided, surfboards will be provided, so just bring your suit, sunscreen, and be ready to have fun! Billabong’s Sanoe Lake will be there signing autographs for her new Learn to Surf Book. Location: Pacific Coast Highway at Golden West Street, Huntington Beach, CA. Price: $35. What to Bring: Towel, sunscreen and your suit. Staff: Instructors are personable, friendly, patient and positive role models in and out of the water. Each instructor is CPR certified, and is trained in lifeguarding skills, first aid, and water safety. The camps have a 4 to 1 student to instructor ratio.
