August 28, 2005 Powerboat Race - The annual Powerboat
race festival at
Peter's Landing.
Hidden Agenda will be racing in the 2005 Huntington beach Offshore Grand
Prix. Hidden Agenda is a 40' Skater Catamaran powered by 2 750 HP Mercury
Race engines. Chris Carmody from Houston Texas and Roy Schrader from Santa
Barbara, CA will race again. The Ford garage will be running their 44'
MTI Cat along with a second boat from their group of high performance
thrills as well. For a look at the pits, the boats and meet
drivers, the pits will be open Saturday at 9 a.m. with the huge offshore
boats practicing and testing until 3 p.m. Boating gear, clothing and food

456,000 Orange County residents are at risk of going to bed hungry and
though Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County feeds over 220,000 of them,
that’s not enough. In order to accomplish our long-term goal of alleviating
hunger we need your support. This is a great opportunty to make a difference
in the lives of the less fortunate. The food you donate will directly
benefit disadvantaged people in your community. Our mission is to raise
15,000 pounds of food donations. Bring your family and friends to the food
drive and enjoy free food, music, face painting and a Surf industry product
raffle. All proceeds of raffle will be donated to 2nd Harvest Food Bank of
Orange County. Most Needed Items: Canned foods: Soups, peanut butter,
juices, bottled water, vegetables, beans, etc. Dried goods: Pasta, rice,
crackers and dry cereals. Baby-care Items: Diapers, formula, baby food, etc.

Jardin (www.conjuntojardin.com). Around the traditional core of jarana and
requinto, Conjunto Jardín features keyboardist Gary Johnson and vocalist
sisters Libby and Cindy Harding performing one of the most vital and
energetic styles of Mexican folk music. Many of the regional Spanish
American song/dance styles use a 6/8 rhythm syncopated with 2/4 and 3/4
rhythms. The son jarocho in Mexico is one such style with origins in the
17th and 18th centuries in Spanish dances such as the fandango. CD releases
include: Blue Rose Café, Sabiá, Word of Mouth, Tlen-Huicani, Putumayo
