April 24, 2005 Food Event - A Taste of Huntington Beach is a food and wine extravaganza. For one admission price, guests 21 and older can sample chefs' preparations with unique recipes from their restaurant kitchens. Dozens of restaurants and wineries participate in this extremely popular one day event sponsored by the Huntington Beach Restaurant Association to raise funds for Huntington Beach Library Children's Wing. April 24 , 2005 Surfing - NSSA Southwest Conference Explorer Season Event #9 The Explorer Season is a ten event schedule running one weekend per month from September to June. The Southwest Conference competition program is regarded by the surfing industry, surfing publications, etc., as the highest level of surfing competition in the western United States. Competitive membership in this conference is approximately 1000 members. Because of the level of competition and the high media exposure, competitors come from the entire state of California to compete in the Southwest Conference events.
