October 11, 2005  Surfing - Hosted by Surfing America, Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships  for ages Juniors (Under 18, Under 16, Girls Under 18)  Eligibility: Any NGB in good standing with the ISA may send selected athletes to participate on their behalf. Type of Wave: Consistent breaks on any swell. North side has a nice right all the way from outside to a fast inside section. Southside has a nice left, fast inside section. The pier is located at Main St. and Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach. The south side of the pier is where most championships have been held. Anticipated Size of Wave: 2 - 4 feet. Air Temperature: 62 degrees Fahrenheit (16 degrees Celsius). Event is held through October 16 in Huntington Beach. International Surfing Association (ISA) in Olympic Games format with participants representing countries. Medals are awarded to the top four finalists. The Hilton Waterfront Beach Hotel will serve as Event Headquarters with all event announcements posted there and at the contest site on the beach. The AGM, team registration, media accreditation, judging seminar and other important meetings will be held at the Hilton. The hotel is located beachfront, at 21100 Pacific Coast Hwy. It is walking distance from the contest site and downtown Huntington Beach.  Location: Huntington Beach City Beach near the Huntington Beach Pier at Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street, Huntington Beach.
