January 14, 2006 Grand Night for Singing - This Musical
Revue in 2 acts with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar
Hammerstein II first opened the Broadway season in 1994 with tremendous
response. Over three decades after Rogers & Hammerstein collaborated on
the The Sound Of Music, A Grand Night for Singing gained wildly enthusiastic
reviews. Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Shall We Dance?" performed as a comic pas
de deux for a towering beauty and her diminutive admirer throws a hilarious
spin on the original stage presentation of this and other songs from two of
the most prolific songwriters on the American musical scene. The song list
includes many best-selling Broadway hits such as Some Enchanted Evening, I'm
Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair, I Cain't Say No, Surrey With The
Fringe On Top, It Might As Well Be Spring, Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin', If
I Loved You and many more. Location: Huntington Beach Playhouse at
Huntington Beach Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach, CA
