January 21, 2006   Art - Windows Gallery in Huntington Beach Central Library is holding its annual Member's Co-op Show of the Huntington Beach Art League. Located on the first floor of the library, the exhibit features works from amateur and professional artists with varied themes that range from landscapes to abstracts. This mixed media exhibit is free to see. Membership to the nonprofit Huntington Beach art club is open to the public. January 21, 2006  Tour -  Take a tour of the Shipley Nature Center. Trained docents provide renovation information, answer questions, and lead tours. You are free to wander the trails, view renovation progress, and spot birds, turtles and other wildlife. Note that the gates are closed for inclement weather, and the Nature Center may be closed for major holiday weekends and the fifth Saturday in some months. January 21, 2006  Grand Night for Singing - This Musical Revue in 2 acts with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II first opened the Broadway season in 1994 with tremendous response. Over three decades after Rogers & Hammerstein collaborated on the The Sound Of Music, A Grand Night for Singing gained wildly enthusiastic reviews. Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Shall We Dance?" performed as a comic pas de deux for a towering beauty and her diminutive admirer throws a hilarious spin on the original stage presentation of this and other songs from two of the most prolific songwriters on the American musical scene.
