October 8 , 2006 Sports Competition - Sprint Race: The 800 yard swim takes place at Huntington Beach State Park located at Pacific Coast Highway and Brookhurst. It is an ocean swim. The 12 mile bike course runs along the Santa Ana River bike path. The 5k run goes along the beach trail. Start Times: 7:00 am. The courses: Super Sprint distances are 1/4 mile swim, 6 mile bike, 1.5 mile run. Divisions (You may race in one division only) Age Group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+; Weight Division: Clydesdale (men 200 lbs and over) and Athena (women 145 lbs and over); Relay Team: Male, Female and Coed; Elite: Any triathlete who considers him or herself to be an elite athlete. You must register under the full price Sprint race. Elites may race in the sprint race only. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable (from person to person, year to year or from this race to another race). No exceptions. Sprint: $90 until September 15, $105 after ; Super Sprint $70 /$85. Collegiate (Sprint race) $65 /$80; Collegiate (Super Sprint race) $45 /$60. High School (Sprint race) $55 /$70; High School (Super Sprint race), $35 /$50. Relay Team (Sprint only) $180 /$195. Awards will go three deep in each age category and special division. There is no prize money. Each participant will receive a 100% cotton commemorative race t-shirt, swim cap, race goody bag, and post-race food and beverage.
