September 24, 2006 The 11th Annual Weiner National Dachshund Races. Dog owners with dachshunds are welcome to pay a small fee to enter their first time runners or repeat competitors in this grueling, 20-yard event that pits dog against dog to the finish line. Dachshund races were originally created as a joke for a SuperBowl ad. They have been extremely popular events throughout the U.S. and in Huntington Beach, where they coincide with the Old World Village Oktoberfest.
