January 17, 2008   Wetlands viewing - Birders, nature lovers and the curious are invited to drop by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, one of the West Coast's significant flyways for migrating birds. Bring binoculars to enjoy even closer views of these soaring creatures. Location: Pacific Coast Highway between Seapoint and Warner on the east side of the highway. Enjoy 300 acres, plus a 1.5 mile loop trail.  No pets or bikes permitted on the trails. Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

 

January 17, 2008  Adventure Sports Presentation - Mike O'Shea speaks from experience. His white-knuckled, breathtaking, exhilarating and extremely dangerous ride into the unknown will be presented in this compelling travel journal. O'Shea will discuss adventures that included  deadly whirlpools, sheer-sided gorges, rapids, Tibetan bandits, floating headless bodies, ex-Khmer Rouge extortionists, looming Chinese dams and terrifying Chinese soldiers.
