December 15, 2008 Gondola Ride - Sunset Gondola Cruise. Gondoliers take you through the channels of Huntington Harbour to see the Cruise of Lights decorations on lighted homes. Price for two is around $75. Location: Peters Landing, Huntington Beach, CA. Time: 11 - 11 daily.

December 15, 2008 Centennial Concerto Cruise of Lights - Cruise of Lights boat tour is sponsored by the volunteer members of the Orange County Philharmonic who seek to help fund music programs in the schools. Homeowners of Huntington Harbour participate by decorating to their waterfront docks, boats, homes and castles for the public to view from boat rides on the Pacific Ocean inlet that makes up the five waterways to the manmade islands. Hop aboard one of the yachts in Huntington Harbour with a boat ride that includes narration of the homes and holiday decor that lines the channels of this upscale waterfront residential community decked out for Christmas. Times: 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 & 8:30 p.m. Cost: $13 adult; $9 ages 2 through 12. Location: Bus ride to boat meets at Huntington Harbour Mall, 16899 Algonquin, Huntington Beach, CA. December 15, 2008 Beach Bonfire. You must bring your own fire wood to the beach for a beach bonfire. Fire rings are located north of the Huntington Beach Pier at Bolsa Chica State Beach on Pacific Coast Highway (between Warner Ave. & Seapoint St.) and south of the Huntington Beach Pier on PCH between 1st Street and Beach Blvd. at Huntington City Beach or between Beach Blvd. & Brookhurst Street at Huntington State Beach. Cost: Free, first come-first serve.

December 15, 2008 Shipley Nature Center - Restoration Days. The Friends of Shipley Nature Center will be planting, weeding and cleaning up, and they need your assistance. On the first Saturday of the month, the public can tour Shipley Nature Center at 11 a.m., in addition to the clean up activities that begin at 9 a.m. and go till noon. Location: Central Park West, near Breakfast in the Park or on 17829 Golden West Street, between Slater and Central Library Drive, Huntington Beach, CA. Cost: Free. December 15, 2008 Wetlands viewing - Birders, nature lovers and the curious are invited to drop by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, one of the West Coast's significant flyways for migrating birds. Bring binoculars to enjoy even closer views of these soaring creatures. Location: Pacific Coast Highway between Seapoint and Warner on the east side of the highway. Enjoy 300 acres, plus a 1.5 mile loop trail. No pets or bikes permitted on the trails. Open during daylight hours.
