Competition - in Huntington
Beach. This two star qualifier
launches the West Coast series
that runs all summer and fall.
Two local HB favorites will
participate. Time: 8 a.m. daily.

- A workshop features guest
artists who teach hands-on art
to families in a program
sponsored by Target. Throughout
California and the US, Target
has taken on the arts as its
funding project, providing free
admission to galleries and art
museums on weekends or special
days. In this event, families
are invited to drop by the
seminar to learn new techniques
and create a work of art that
goes home with them. Time: 1 to

Grunion Run! Run for the
slippery silversides. Must have
fishing license to catch them,
and can only catch 'em with your
hands. That's the State of
California's rules. If you don't
have a license, you won't be
allowed to fish, as most beaches
are closed that late (except for
San Diego County beaches).
Location: All Southern
California beaches may
experience the grunion run.
Time: Expected run time is
11:30 to 1:30 p.m.
