September 16, 2011 Community Festival - Ocean View High School PTSA is hosting a Fundraising Community Festival on the OVHS campus. This fun-filled event features multicultural food booths, an inflatable bounce house, carnival games, arts and crafts, vendor and information booths, music and entertainment, as well as a silent auction and opportunity drawings. It is open to the public and admission is free. Academic departments have been greatly impacted by the budget cuts and proceeds will be used to buy much needed books and supplies for the school. The Miss Firecracker Contest, play. The Miss Firecracker Contest is a two-act play made into a movie with Holly Hunter, who played the part of Carnelle, an irrepressible young woman who thinks that winning the local beauty contest will restore her soiled reputation and make her somebody in her small Mississippi community. Oktoberfest - Adults only night at Old World Village. Dance, eat, drink be merry at this annual German tradition.
