Mother's Day Events in Huntington Beach California

SUNDAY, MAY 10, 2010 is Mother's Day in Huntington Beach California

Mother's Day in Huntington Beach California is an event celebrated like most any place. The usual thing to do for mom is take her out to eat. You can also send her flowers, but food seems to offer the best bonding and entertainment opportunity that shows that you care enough to be there and share, whenever possible.

In Huntington Beach, there are hundreds of restaurants all honoring mothers with either a standard menu, or in places such as the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort, with special menu items for the special day. Other such places to celebrate include Old World Village's German Restaurant. The atmosphere is Old World style, while at the Hilton you will be near the ocean and many seats will offer ocean views in their lovely dining room.

Mother's Day Brunch - The Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach will be hosting an extravagant Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday May 11th. Families will be able to enjoy ocean views and live entertainment while they dine and spoil Mom! Brunch will be presented in three seatings at 10:00a.m., 12:30p.m., and 3:00p.m. The price for this affair is $75 for adults and $19.95 for children ages 6-12, plus tax and gratuity. Guests who wish to attend are encouraged to make reservations by calling (714) 845- 8000 x 2211. This is but one of many special luncheon events the hotel hosts throughout the seasons.

Subject to change: A cheaper option for dining is Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast hosted by Lion's Club as a Fundraiser for Therapeutic Riding Center. Held in Lake Park (between 11 & 12th Street, Huntington Beach, CA. Cost: $4/person, kids under 7 year are free. Time 7 - 11 a.m. Sorry, no phone number contact has been provided. Unless it rains (unlikely) or there's some natural disaster, the event is a go.

Sunset Beach Art Festival is another event held on Mother's Day that offers snacks, sodas, hot dogs and opportunities to buy gifts for mom. Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. approx. Location: Greenbelt (North & South Pacific), Sunset Beach, CA. No number is available to call. Just show up!

Sharing time with mom in Huntington Beach is an event that can be casual and cool. Some like to join their mothers for bicycle rides, bonfires or even surfing lessons at the beach. A nice, mellow celebration after a delicious meal is to drive to the Bolsa Chica wetlands on the north end of the city and wander onto the walkbridge to watch the bird mommies feed their youngsters. This beautiful habitat for migrating birds is a real treat--and it's free.

Another event you may enjoy is a visit to a local park. There are over 70 parks in HB and the lawns are lush and green most any time. Maybe you want to do something quite different, however.

On a recent Mother's Day outing in Huntington Beach, we at Huntington Beach Events.com noticed some grandchildren (boys) fishing with grandma off the pier for Mother's Day. They were having the time of their life spending quality time and creating memories that each will carry for the rest of their lives.

Some of the most popular restaurants on Mother's Day in Huntington Beach will include ocean views such as Duke's, Hilton, Hyatt, Fred's Mexican Cafe and Spark Woodfire Grill. Check ahead for reservations and seating information.

Some of the most popular hotels to take your family to (husbands listen up), will include the luxury resorts such as the Hilton or Hyatt. Don't scrimp on this one special day! Isn't mom, your wife, or grandma worth it?

And one final piece of advice. Try a family gondola ride in Huntington Harbour. Tim will set you up with a beautiful day to share together. Just bring the laughter.
