How Boardfest AKA Surf City Days came about: The BID first introduced the idea of a Board Fest concept event which will be held on weekend of September 17 & 18. They met with City of Huntington Beach Community Services to confirm the dates and make sure the event will compliment the Community Surfing contest, a popular annual event open to residents. The new "Days" event includes three components; paddle board race, lifeguard challenge and possibly a celebrity surf event.
