December 11, 2004 Saturday Car Cruisers known as the Donuts Derelicts is a group of car collectors that meet at Adams Avenue Donuts parking lot to share Hot Rods, Street Cars, Woodies, Imports and a variety of restored vehicles at Adams and Magnolia Ave. The Saturday Sunrise Car Show is a loosely organized club of car owners who have been meeting for over 20 years to share the love of cars. The public is invited. Often children are allowed to sit in a hot rod or classic car (with the owner's permission) to turn the steering wheel and enjoy the look and feel of a unique vehicle. Parking is available in the Ace parking lot or Adams Avenue Donut Shop with overflow parking extending to Drug Emporium lot across Adams. December 11, 2004 Shipley Nature Center Open - Trained docents provide renovation information, answer questions, and lead tours. You are free to wander the trails, view renovation progress, and spot birds and turtles and other wildlife. Note that the gates are closed for inclement weather, and the Nature Center may be closed for major holiday weekends and the fifth Saturday in some months. December 11, 2004 Boat Parade - Huntington Harbour Cruise of Lights Starlight Symphony is the theme of the Huntington Harbour Boat Parade. This annual event, held in conjunction with Cruise of Lights, is a boat decorating contest open to registrants who light their vessels and compete for awards. For two consecutive nights, the festive boats join in a parade that begins near Warner Avenue and heads south, making its way through the channels of Huntington Harbour. December 11, 2004 Snowflakes light up the Huntington Beach Pier and Main Street through New Year's Day. Approximately 84 artificial snowflakes strewn with twinkling lights adorn light downtown Huntington Beach. They are a delight to see. There are 48 on the pier and 36 stretching along Main Street from Pacific Coast Highway to Orange Avenue. Traditionally placed along Main Street with corporate sponsorship plaques attached to them, funding cuts have changed the procedure this year.
