September 18, 2005   Childrens Play - Annie Warbucks from Orange County Children's Theater in cooperation with The City of Stanton. This magical sequel to Broadway’s favorite family musical begins right where Annie left off. It’s Christmas Morning, 1933, and everyone in Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks’ household is celebrating the billionaire’s adoption of Annie, an orphan who charmed her way into his heart. However, their celebration is short-lived when New York Child Welfare Commissioner Harriet Doyle arrives. The commissioner declares that New York law does not allow a single man to adopt a child. Warbucks has 60 days to find a wife and a mother for Annie, or Annie goes back to the orphanage. Directed by Kathy Busby, Musical Direction by Crystal Barron, Choreography by Tara Pitt. September 18, 2005   Oktoberfest at Old World Village Restaurant - Sunday afternoons are Family Days at Oktoberfest. Get out your lederhosen and learn the Chicken Dance at Oktoberfest in Huntington Beach. September 18, 2005 Surfing - National Scholastic Surfing Association NSSA 2005/2006 Southwest Conference Explorer Season competition. Contest 1 in this series is AA rated. It will be held at 9th Street and Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach. It is open to (age as of 1/1/06) mens 18 and up; juniors 15 to 17 years; boys 13 to 14 years old; menehuene 12 and under; longboard all ages; masters 24 to 34 years; seniors 35 to 44; super seniors 45 and up; girls 14 and under; womens all ages. September 18, 2005 Dogs - Huntington Beach 8th Annual Walk for the Animals well-mannered dogs, on leashes, to attend. No puppies under six months. Scheduled activities include Tyson the Skateboarding Bulldog as walk mascot; Disc Dogs in Southern California; sponsor booths; vendors; silent auction and door prizes. All funds raised from the Walk help support the Orange County SPCA’s programs including cruelty prevention; veterinary care for sick and injured animals; subsidized spay/neuter, feral cat rescue; humane education in the classroom; refuge for pets of domestic violence victims; and pet-assisted therapy. Registration is $20 before September 10th, $25 on the day of the event. Kids 12 years and under, free. Teams of five or more pay $15 each if pre-registered by the 12th.
