September 8, 2006    Farmer's Market and Art A-Faire Held weekly on Friday  from Noon to Dusk (approx. 5 p.m.) Held most Fridays at the outdoor Pier Plaza next to the Huntington Beach Pier, a certified Farmer's Market sells the finest California grown fruits and vegetables, breads, nuts, flowers and perishables. September 8, 2006  Surf Exhibit - Surfin' - Direction of a Sport, documents the development of fins in a rare collection that not only shows the original invention, but its numerous size and shape modifications through a 71-year period  beginning in 1935. September 8, 2006 Plein Air Painting Art Contest - Artists paint scenes around Huntington Beach until a specific date (Sept.16). The works are then displayed and sold at auction as a fundraising event for the Huntington Beach Art Center.  The preview reception will be held on September 15 and the public reception will be held on September 16, 2006.
