February 3, 2007 Huntington Beach celebrates the 11th anniversary of
Orange County's premier beachfront marathon. Events include a half marathon,
a wheelchair half marathon, 5K and kids runs. A two-day Active Lifestyle
Expo (located at the
Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort)
includes health and fitness vendors, exhibitors, community and charities
events. The tailgate party on Sunday includes Beer Garden and live
entertainment. The Pacific Shoreline Marathon start and finish line is
located just north of the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast
Highway across the street from the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and
Spa.

February 3, 2007 Wetlands viewing - Birders, nature lovers and the
curious are invited to drop by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Preserve, one of
the West Coast's significant flyways for migrating birds. Bring binoculars
to enjoy even closer views of these soaring creatures. Location: Pacific
Coast Highway between Seapoint and Warner on the east side of the highway.
Enjoy 300 acres, plus a 1.5 mile loop trail. No pets or bikes
permitted on the trails. Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

February 3, 2007 Miss Huntington Beach Pageant - The annual Miss Huntington
Beach Scholarship Pageant at the historic Huntington Beach High School
Auditorium begins at 7 pm. Tickets are $15 with the net proceeds going
toward scholarships.
The Miss Huntington Beach Pageant is produced by the Women of Action, a
division of the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce, and will once again
have Matt Liffreing act as emcee, along with the more than 14 contestants
who will sing, dance, act and answer important questions to vie for a slice
of Surf City history. Sponsors include: Hearthside Homes, 5 Points
Plaza, Friar Tux Shop, Regal Awards, Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort,
Carousel Press, SkillCraft Body Shop, Inc., Clockwork Agency, Ruby Palace
