February 17, 2008  WSA Surfing Contest - Western Surfing Association (WSA) Surf Contest #9 under 18 divisions will surf to completion on Saturday, February 16, and all 18 and over divisions will surf on Sunday, February 17. All age divisions are determined by the surfer's age at 12:01 a.m., 1/01/2008. Surfers may compete in the one time, non-member category, but if they want to continue and enter the other contests along the coast, they have to pay $70/annual dues for membership. February 17, 2008  Wetlands viewing - Birders, nature lovers and the curious are invited to drop by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, one of the West Coast's significant flyways for migrating birds. Bring binoculars to enjoy even closer views of these soaring creatures. Location: Pacific Coast Highway between Seapoint and Warner on the east side of the highway. Enjoy 300 acres, plus a 1.5 mile loop trail.  No pets or bikes permitted on the trails. Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.   

February 17, 2008  Art - Windows Gallery in Huntington Beach Central Library on the first floor features works from amateur and professional artists with varied themes that range from landscapes to abstracts.
