April 20, 2008 Taste of Huntington Beach 2008 - This event offers an
afternoon featuring HB's finest cuisine prepared by restaurant chefs, and
paired with California’s premium wines and brews. More than enough food to
challenge the hungry man, the event is recognized for its one fee "all
inclusive" dining. It offers the opportunity discover restaurants or menus
you've previously missed, plan for an event, or select a company for your
special events catering needs at some future date. Most restaurants have
brochures, business cards or other promotional literature to add to your
stockpile of dining resources. Taste of Huntington Beach proceeds benefit
the Children’s Wing of the Huntington Beach Library and Project Self

April 20, 2008 Guy Takayama Longboard Pro Am. 2nd annual Guy Takayama
Longboard Pro Am amateur surfing competition, named after Oceanside surfer
Guy Takayama and his 23rd annual longboard event in Oceanside, this
Huntington Beach version includes West Coast longboard surf clubs. Ages 10
to 70+ will compete in amateur noseriding and longboard surfing. Location:

April 20, 2008 - Bolsa Chica Earth Day 2008! Free family fun at the Bolsa
Chica Ecological Reserve includes guided hikes, water testing, touch tanks
and live animal displays, chances to learn about water conservation and
habitat restoration, jump tents, hot dogs, snow cones, and more! Time: 10

Production is set in Louisiana. Truvy’s Beauty Salon for Southern
ladies is the center of the community's social world. It is where secrets
are revealed, gossip relayed, and advice dispensed. Drama, humor and a range
of emotions of the beauty shop women are explored in this play that's
especially appealing to females. The script was also written as a popular
movie production with Daryl Hannah, Sally Fields and Julia Roberts, to name

of the American College Theatre Festival,
this drama by James Leonard, Jr. is the
story of a disturbed young man and a
disenchanted preacher in a tiny southern
Indiana town during the great depression
era. The boy nearly drowned in a traumatic
accident that took his mother's life and
left him deathly afraid of water. The
haunting play is a must see. Time: 2 p.m.

April 20, 2008 Imagination Celebration Exhibit Reception - Huntington
Beach Art Center will hold a special exhibit in conjunction with the annual
Orange County Imagination Celebration themed "Imagination Powers the Planet
2008." In partnership with Imagination Celebration and Arts Orange County,
this exhibition of student work features stunning visual images in a variety
of media, including photography, animation, digital art, film, and computer
graphics by students of all ages from K – 12. Reception time: 2 - 4 p.m.

Art Exhibit - Milford Zornes, N.A.,
American Artist. Honoring the works of one of America's esteemed artists,
oil paintings that have never been exhibited until now are featured in the
rare collection of art by Zornes, who passed away in February after reaching
100 years of age.
Anderson Art Gallery
is the top dealer of Zornes art. The gallery
features fine arts exhibits with a collection of watercolors, oils and
sculptures and mixed media from renown artists Bill Anderson, Raul Anguiano,
Henry Fukuhara, Howard Hitchcock, Milford Zornes and more.

April 20, 2008 Art exhibition - Celine Chat, a surfer and artist from
France, exhibits at the International Surfing Museum of Huntington Beach in
California a combination of her artwork made in Australia , Caribbean and
Brazil : Sharing Perspectives. Her abstract artwork is now renowned in many
countries like France, United Stated, Australia, West Indies or Brazil, from

April 20, 2008 New exhibition- Surfing Sounds Part II: Jan &
Dean. This new exhibit explores the relationship and affect surfing music
has on the surfing culture and pop culture, as well. It will feature
original art by Huntington Beach resident,
Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean, and
will include memorabilia from the band's decade-long rise to fame with songs
that topped the charts with 28 hits: Deadman's Curve, Little Old Lady from
Pasadena, Surf City and that actually continues today with concert
tours. (Note: Jan Berry passed away in March 2004.) In addition to this

Gallery HB. Original sculptures and oil paintings by Corinne Hartley,
largest collection of Todd White art and works by Toreen West, plus Dean

April 20, 2008 Wetlands viewing - Birders, nature lovers and the
curious are invited to drop by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, one of
the West Coast's significant flyways for migrating birds. Bring binoculars
to enjoy even closer views of these soaring creatures. Location: Pacific
Coast Highway between Seapoint and Warner on the east side of the highway.
Enjoy 300 acres, plus a 1.5 mile loop trail. No pets or bikes
permitted on the trails. Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Huntington Beach Taste Of
Taste of Huntington Beach is but one event
held on Earth Day weekend this year. This
annual food, wine and beer extravaganza
raises money for the Huntington Beach Public
Library system. You ticket purchase supports
expenditures for programs such as the kids'
wing, recognized as one of the finest
children's library programs on the West
Coast.
