May 1, 2008 AVP Pro Beach Volleyball May 1st launch day
of the Huntington Beach event includes an annual tradition of inviting kids
for volleyball camps and clinics, and a competition for amateur players not
on the avp circuit. Location: South Side
of Huntington Beach Pier at Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway,
Huntington Beach, CA. Cost: Free to watch, premier grandstand seats sold and

May 1, 2008 Sunset Gondola Cruise
Tickets. Individuals, couples
and families can take a personal gondola tour.
May 1, 2008 Wetlands viewing - Birders, nature lovers and the
curious are invited to drop by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, one of
the West Coast's significant flyways for migrating birds. Bring binoculars
to enjoy even closer views of these soaring creatures. Location: Pacific
Coast Highway between Seapoint and Warner on the east side of the highway.
Enjoy 300 acres, plus a 1.5 mile loop trail. No pets or bikes
permitted on the trails. Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
May 1, 2008 Disc Frisbee Golf
- The public is invited to get out and compete in this exciting sport that's
relaxing and easy to learn. Location: Huntington Beach Disc Golf Course,
Central Park lot off Golden West Street between Talbert and Ellis. Time:

Center - Open to the public, it includes an interpretive center
with educational exhibits, nature trails for wildlife viewing and native
