NEWLAND HOUSE WREATH

About this photo above:

Visit the Newland House Museum in December to capture the flavor of an old-fashioned Victorian Christmas. While the visitors taking tours at the historic home of Huntington Beach's early settlers are wandering around the house in shorts and tee shirts, the house itself reflects an earlier era in which women wore long skirts, and men did not show their knees, except when swimming at the beach.

What's interesting about Newland House is that many young families bring their toddlers and groups to this stately abode to take their holiday photos in front of the front door with its evergreen wreath.

While tours inside are offered for a small fee, guests can stand outside the grounds and wander around at no charge.
