February 4, 2009 Encore of original transmission of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice Performed at The Metropolitan Opera. This opera features Danielle de Niese as Orfeo’s adored wife, Euridice, who inspires the hero to face the underworld for her sake. February 4, 2009 Ebb & Flow Art Exhibit - A Centennial Exhibition 2009, includes art and photographs representing 100 years of change in the city of Huntington Beach. Historic Resources Board and HB Art Center co-sponsor this event. Exhibit runs thru Feb. 22. Time: Noon to 6 p.m. Cost: Free admission. Location: 538 Main St., Huntington Beach, CA. February 4, 2009 Huntington Beach Art League Demonstrator - Guest presenter Frank Yang offers demo, providing art tips and tricks. Frank Yang, Oil Painter, enjoyed drawing and painting all his life, even though he majored in Health Sciences at Cal State Los Angeles and worked in
the health industry. Yang’s passion for drawing and painting lead him to a position as a portrait and caricature artist at Disneyland. His art works have evolved from realistic representation to a loose, semi-abstract impressionistic style. His brush strokes range from strong, decisive color to a pattern of small strokes that resemble a tapestry of colors that vibrate, blend and mix on their own. Frank’s unique approach to oil painting has made him a consistent award winner at art shows and brought him many commissions for portraits and family pets. His affiliations include the American Society of Portrait Artists and San Gabriel Fine Arts Association. Time: 7:30 p.m. Location: Rodgers Senior Center, 1706 Orange Ave., Huntington Beach, CA.
