September 19, 2010 Bolsa Chica Wetlands and Mesa Tour. Free tour meets the third Sunday of every month. This is a two-hour walking tour of the Bolsa Chica Mesa and Wetlands conducted by the Bolsa Chica Land Trust. This docent-led tour makes five stops along the walkbridge and loop trails of the wetlands. Meet in the Ecological Reserve parking lot. Warm clothing, comfortable shoes and binoculars are recommended. Time: 10 a.m. to Noon. Cost: Free. September 19, 2010 Sumer City Surf Contest - The 40th Annual Huntington Beach City Surfing Championship include free style divisions for Super Masters, Grand Masters, Seniors, Masters, Men, Juniors, Boys, Women and Menehune. Winners will receive trophies. Driver’s license or school ID with proof of age (birth certificate) must be presented before competing. Ages are as of contest date. August 27 is the last day to sign up. Each participant will receive a T-shirt with a special surf logo. Participation limited to first 175 registrants. Fee: $30 South Side of Pier. Newland House Museum Tours - Tour the Newland House Museum - the oldest residence built in the City of Huntington Beach. The Newland House was built in 1898 for Huntington Beach pioneers William and Mary Newland and their ten children. Location: 19820 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, CA.
