October 31 Halloween on Main Street - an annual delight sponsored for over 12 years by the Huntington Beach Downtown BID. Location: Blocks 1 - 3 of Main Street. Time: 5 - 8 p.m. Cost: Free. Where to stay? There are several hotels within blocks of the Main Street Halloween event. Hilton, Hyatt and Best Western (closest) all offer great accommodations. For those adhering to the school night for kids, get a babysitter and enjoy the adult entertainment that begins on Main Street after 9 p.m. Several Halloween contests and parties will be held in places such as Longboard Pub, Hurricanes and Fred's Mexican Cantina.

Trick or Treat on Main Street, Downtown HB. Halloween Fest on Main Street Time: 4 -8 p.m. Cost: Free. Kids can Trick or Treat with local merchants in downtown HB and enjoy free activities such as Pony Rides and Petting Zoo. Bouncy houses, Giant Slide, Drekko the Dragon, 40 foot Obstacle Course, Police and Fire Departments with their vehicles include an antique fire truck. Face Painting, Costume Contests, HBoo Walk of Chills and Thrills on Walnut & Main Street, plus a whole lot more to see. -October 31 Disc Golf - The public Frisbee golf course is open daily. Location: Huntington Beach Disc Golf Course, Central Park lot off Golden West Street between Talbert and Ellis. Time: Daily. Call: (714) 425-9931. Hotels nearby are located within just a mile or two on Beach Boulevard and include Howard Johnson and Best Western. This largely residential / commercial area that surround the Disc Golf Course does not offer hotel accommodations.

October 31 Art - Windows Gallery in Huntington Beach Central Library on the first floor features works from amateur and professional artists with varied themes that range from landscapes to abstracts. This mixed media exhibit is free to see. Location: 7111 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach, CA.
