December 12 Boat Parade - Huntington Harbour Cruise of Lights Starlight Symphony is the theme of the Huntington Harbour Boat Parade. This annual event, held in conjunction with Cruise of Lights, is a boat decorating contest open to registrants who light their vessels and compete for awards. For two consecutive nights, the festive boats join in a parade that begins near Warner Avenue and heads south, making its way through the channels of Huntington Harbour. The Huntington Beach islands are closed to car traffic during this event so parking is extremely limited. Time: 5 to 8 p.m. Location: Warner Avenue near Pacific Coast Highway. Cost: Free to watch. December 12, 2004 Snowflakes light up the Huntington Beach Pier and Main Street through New Year's Day. Approximately 84 artificial snowflakes strewn with twinkling lights adorn light downtown Huntington Beach. They are a delight to see. There are 48 on the pier and 36 stretching along Main Street from Pacific Coast Highway to Orange Avenue. Traditionally placed along Main Street with corporate sponsorship plaques attached to them, funding cuts have changed the procedure this year.
