N' The Night Away is
the theme of this annual boat parade in which
contestants win trophies for contest categories
as applied in boat lighting, music and designs. The public can watch the parade
free. Parking on the Huntington Beach islands is
extremely limited, which makes watching a

Snowflakes light
up the Huntington Beach Pier and Main Street through New
Year's Day. Approximately 84 artificial snowflakes strewn with twinkling
lights adorn light downtown Huntington Beach. They are a delight to see.
There are 48 on the pier and 36 stretching along Main Street from Pacific
Coast Highway to Orange Avenue. Traditionally placed along Main Street and
the Huntington Beach Pier, they are truly beautiful displays of holiday
spirit in Huntington Beach. Watch the twinkling lights reflect on the
Pacific Ocean waters below.

Birders, nature lovers and the
curious are invited to drop by
the Bolsa Chica Ecological
Reserve, one of the West Coast's
significant flyways for
migrating birds. Bring
binoculars to enjoy even closer
views of these soaring
creatures. Location: Pacific
Coast Highway between Seapoint
and Warner on the east side of
the highway. Enjoy 300 acres,
plus a 1.5 mile loop trail. No
pets or bikes permitted on the
trails. Open during daylight
hours.

MAXWELL'S RESTAURANT ON HUNTINGTON BEACH PIER

Maxwell's is a part of the Huntington Beach
history that might easily be forgotten if
not for the likes of artist Bill Anderson.
Bill Anderson, a long-time Huntington Beach
artist, is known around the globe for his
artwork. He owns Bill Anderson Gallery in
Sunset Beach and his clientele has included
Cameron Diaz, for one.
His newest exhibition is a body of works that
portrays Huntington Beach during the years
that he's been a resident. The display
commemorates the city's 100th birthday in
2009.
