September 17, 2006 The Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OCSPCA) with sponsor Ralph’s will host the 9th Annual 5K/2K Walk for the Animals, Sunday, September 17 at 9:00am in Central Park East, Golden West Street, Huntington Beach. Scheduled appearances include Christina Macaulay of Reach Out (honorary emcee), Tyson the Skateboarding Bulldog (walk mascot), and Crimson Chaos (Red Hat Society Chapter #2093). Well-mannered dogs, on leashes, are encouraged to attend. No puppies under six months. Activities following the walk include entertainment; sponsor booths; silent auction and door prizes. All funds raised from the Walk help support the organization’s programs including cruelty prevention through humane education in the classroom; veterinary care for sick and injured animals; subsidized spay/neuter, feral cat rescue; and pet-assisted therapy. Registration is $20.00 before September 1st, $25.00 on the day of the event. Kids 12 years and under, free. Teams of five or more pay $15.00 each if pre-registered by the 10th.
