      FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2007

Friday means the bars and restaurants heat up for the weekend. This week at Perqs the featured bands will serve up some raucous rock & roll with tributes to Social Distortion and Mommy's Little Monster. How hot is that? Also on tap is live entertainment at Canes (Hurricanes), Martini Blues, Tumbleweeds, Surf City Saloon, Blues Cafe, and many other local clubs. Take a nap so you can stay up late. For daytime activities, kids and adults can shop at the Boutique of Lights, buy fresh produce, foods and crafts at Friday Farmer's Market, and go to story time at Central Library. There's a special excitement on Fridays in HB, because that day signals the weekend. And in California, that can mean a weekend vacation to the mountains, Central Coast or a flight to some far away destination.
