May 24, 2008 National Beach Safety Week Open House - Huntington Beach Marine Safety Division Open House at Lifeguard Headquarters is coordinated with the United States Lifesaving Association. The event showcases beach safety displays, brochures, coloring books, and educational videos. Children can climb aboard a Lifeguard Rescue Truck and Honda Rescue Watercraft for photo opportunities. National Beach Safety Week Open House is located at Vincent G. Moorhouse Lifeguard Headquarters, 103 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach. Time: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Honoring the works of one of America's esteemed artists, oil paintings that have never been exhibited until now are featured in the rare collection of art by Zornes, who passed away in February after reaching 100 years of age. May 24, 2008 New exhibition- Surfing Sounds Part II: Jan & Dean. This new exhibit explores the relationship and affect surfing music has on the surfing culture and pop culture, as well. It will feature original art by Huntington Beach resident, Dean Torrenceof Jan & Dean, and will include memorabilia from the band's decade-long rise to fame with songs that topped the charts with 28 hits: Deadman's Curve, Little Old Lady from Pasadena, Surf City and that actually continues today with concert tours.
