September 27, 2009 Race for the Cure - The 2009 Komen Orange County Race for the Cure.  Join breast cancer survivors, advocates, and typically 44 teams from Huntington Beach fighting for a world without breast cancer. The Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure presents the 2009 Orange County Race for the Cure Sunday, Sept. 27 at Fashion Island . The event, which raises significant funds and awareness each year, will feature two 5k walks, a one-mile fun walk and a breast cancer survivor tribute. Participants who register for “In the Pink” VIP status will enjoy various perks on Race day, including exclusive access to the VIP area. All proceeds will fund local breast health initiatives as well as groundbreaking breast cancer research. Time: 6:30 a.m. to Noon.
